Once left for a short hike, and find something interesting and wind throughout the day.

You can have the same freedom, if planned in advance. This lightweight, ready-to-go list includes everything needed to enjoy a short hike or a walk along.

I bring the following items in the pockets of my cargo pants, but a fanny pack works just as well.

* Compass

Topographical Map *

* Notebook or paper and pencil (pens freeze)

* PlasticBags

1 heavy plastic garbage / leaf size
2 "zip lock" gallon size and reduced size - bear solar still, water

* Bandana - Headwear collect water

* Mirror / sewing kit - I have a set

* Folding Scissors - mine on my key chain

* Dental Floss - 100 m at least

* Disposable Lighter

* Firestarter - small pads, cotton gauze,

* Knife - I am passionate about my Swiss boxcutter

* Lupe

* First aid kit

1 AntisepticTowels

Water purification tablets 2

Painkiller 3

4 Epsom Salt - 4-oz to 32 ml of water

5 bee sting kits

6 Sunscreen - at least SPF 30

7 patches

8 antibiotic ointment [in this smear of a material emergency fire starter]

* Small flashlight - I love my Mini Maglite

* High-energy bars - Larabie works best for me

* Thin gloves

1 MD Plastic office w / o Powder - contribute to water

2 wool and nylon for the hand warmer

*Brilliant color marking tape - to mark the path

Check the contents change every week and that as soon as you use to get home.
